More than 100 riders braved early heavy fog to ride in the 40th Annual Best Wurst Bike Ride on Saturday, August 18. This annual event takes a lot of careful planning and coordination by many volunteers, who we’d like to take this opportunity to thank!
Thank you to the Best Wurst Bike Committee (Bud, Kent, Gerry, Liz, and Tom) for all of your planning and assistance.
Thank you to Bud’s Bicycle Shop for all that you do for the ride as well as recruiting the wonderful HAM radio operators that kept everyone safe on the route. Thanks to The Pickwick Place for hosting the start/finish and providing many delicious treats for our riders and volunteers. Thank you to our Volunteer Wonder Woman Judy Lust and FoxFire Campground for letting us have a rest stop there that Judy managed. Thank you to Gary and Lisa Miller and Coons Candy for letting us place another comfort stop there that my parents volunteered at. Thank you to Jerrika and Kroger for donating a gift card to purchase supplies for the riders. Thanks to Peacock Water/Kinetico for donating water for the riders. Thanks to Bucyrus Elks Lodge #156 for donating some tickets for our riders to get a bratwurst or beverage. Thank you to Central Monogramming for the great design and comfortable t-shirts. Thank you to Krista and Virginia for being my registration rock stars!
Most importantly I want to say thank you to the 100+ riders that braved some heavy fog early on and supported the Bucyrus Tourism and Visitors Bureau by riding. We would not be able to achieve our goals without your generous support and we hope that you all will come back to the Bratwurst Festival next year and ride in the 41st Annual Best Wurst Bike Ride!
Thank you to you for making my first experience with the bike ride an enjoyable one and I hope we see you back next year!
